The author, Thea Creado, MD MBA, is a general physician and healthcare consultant. ‘The leaf’ is her first published collection of poems, an offshoot (pardon the pun) of her Instagram page ‘livinlikealeaf’. Thea’s only Instagram page is one that doesn’t have a single picture of herself, and only focuses on leaves. Asked ‘why leaves’, she explains that ‘everyone focuses on flowers, no-one takes the time to notice the leaves, that are actually nourishing the flowers’. Besides poems, Thea also writes short film scripts (one of which won the AT&T 48 hour film competition for ‘best story’ and another which was produced by NYFA), short stories and songs. Her other hobbies include traveling and trying out new cuisines and cocktails.
