We might think we might only get a snapshot of it all, though surprisingly he manages to capture all the turning points, and above all the essence of Mahabharata - the perennial human struggle to stay align on the side of dharma and how even the wise falter sometimes, despite our best intentions and above all a right choice might not be the "right" choice always, we all do the bes...

Awesome book. With good quality. It has historic elaboration in very fine way.

I bought this book due to 4 reasons: (1) After all, it is the Mahabharat of which I have around 20 different retellings, (2) A descriptive paragraph in the First Look column of a leading English daily was encouraging, (3) The author has received the Sahitya Academy Award, and, (4) the publishers were respectable.

I dont know what made the editor and publisher take the material to print in its current shape, which is not even as good as that in Amar Chitra Katha. I somehow doubt that the auth...
