The book is a PR exercise for McKinsey. The author clearly states in 1st section that a McKinsey is bound by the laws of the company even after he quits the company so u can't expect any -ve views of the company. The Author clearly disguises the -ves of the company with a +ve spin which you start realizing at end of 2nd or 3rd Chapter.

the author take you through all that is needed and all that is done at mckinsey to approach and solve business problems. However, the book has valuable advise on interviewing, brainstorming, team bonding, analyzing and providing workable solution. The book is grounded in the reality of business world and explains how to tackle it to solve a business problem.

Mckinsey has been the firm for consulting,(among many ) , this book does not talk about the in-depth concepts of the Firm ... but a gives the reader the mckinsey's approch , thought mostly worldly ideas put in as structured summary

This is one of those books where you can relate things to real life as you go. It is very simple, very concise and very logical. Should not take more than 3 hours to read for an average reader. But the key lies in assimilating the learning of the author.
