Summary of the Book
Ganesh started off as a primary school teacher and failed at it. He then went on to be a struggling masseur and then an author. This book is a hilarious and amusing journey of how Ganesh went on to be a mystic masseur and achieved great success. The book is set in Colonial Trinidad and has other interesting characters like Ramlogan, Ganesh’s father-in-law, who wants to gain some of Ganesh’s success by getting his daughter married to him. Ganesh’s wife, Leela, punctuates after every word and Ganesh’s relative is a man who belches and burps continuously. This book is highly recommended for anyone who wants a good laugh. The author, V. S. Naipaul, amuses you with the funny English spoken by the people in Trinidad and the comical people.
