The Rosie Project (English, Paperback, Simsion Graeme)

The Rosie Project is a romantic comedy written by Graeme Simsion. It is his debut novel and is strikingly unconventional in its way of portraying how, sometimes, human connections happen for no reason at all.

Summary of the Book

Don Tillman is socially awkward, but a brilliant professor of genetics. All his decisions are organized and proof-based. One day, he decides to get married, and sets out to find a woman who fits his scientific sixteen-page survey! While sieving out the smokers and drinkers he comes across, he meets Rosie, who despises his idea of the survey. She is trying to find her biological father, and Don, the genetics professor, comes to her help. What course does their acquaintance take from there? The Rosie Project was firstly written as a screenplay, which won the Australian Writers Guild/Inception Award for Best Romantic Comedy Script in the year 2010. The novel has also won the Victorian Premier’s Award for an unpublished fiction manuscript in 2012.

Graeme Simsion is a New Zealand born Australian writer, data modeller, playwright, and author. He is married to a professor of psychiatry and erotic fiction writer, Anne. Previously, he was an information systems consultant and had written two books about data-modelling. His other literary works include Short Story Eulogy for a Sinner, which placed second in the Stringybark Seven Deadly Sins competition.
