An honest attempt by VM to delve into facts and stories to project Sanjay as he was!! VM has taken a balanced view. Also makes interesting reading, specially the inside story of Nehru, Indira and the attempt of Sanjay to cut down the population.

I liked the book, i was always fascinated to know more about Sanjay Gandhi.. gives a good insight into his life... but its got a lot of masala , if u know what i mean...

Warning-this is not a totally new book. It was a fairly well researched "quickie" which was among the large number of books which came out soon after the 1977 elections. But this was the only one which concentrated on Sanjay Gandhi, who may well have been a long-time leader of India if fate had not intervened. But what if he hadn't crashed his plane in 1980? You will get a good idea from this book. There is a brief introduction bringing up the last 2 years of his life. It is worth reading for...

Just finished reading the book...it is a short read...not too informative like other books on the same "era"...
Author is biased when it comes to where the loyalties lie...;)
But after reading the book..every citizen realizes...if only "this" didnt occur..we could have been way ahead as a developed nation....

books on Sanjay gandhi are rare,the reason more that they tend to be interesting. To sum up I would say the whole books more or less covers the short life journey to sanjay occassionally coming up with many unknown facts. a great book from one of the pioneers of post independence indian journalism. must read.

A book well written. The style is very contemporary considering it was written more than 30 yrs back.
The only let down is, that Sanjay Gandhi's life isn't all that interesting. A good read for a long flight.
