    Description
The Seventh Cup by Nitesh Kumar Jain is a well-crafted mystery novel that contains just enough elements of a Shakesperean tragedy to make the reader sympathetic to the sociopathic protagonist, Avinash, a drama student from Goa, India. Enter Verona Schmidt, an unsuspecting Swiss exchange student, to upstage everyone in the college Dramatics Club and to become front and centre in Avinash's peculiar frame of mind. Over coffee at the local Nescafe, Avinash introduces Verona to the concept of mind transportation, which she perceives as nothing more than a fun game she is playing with a young man who seems to be flirting with her. The exchange student enjoys Avinashs company and co-stars with him in his play put on by the Dramatics Club of their college. She eventually allows herself (despite her claim to having a so-called boyfriend named Kevin) to enjoy Champaign and a kiss with Avinash. Dismissing the romantic moment as a drunken mistake, Verona flees back to Switzerland with the obsessed Avinash in hot pursuit across the globe.

    Stunningly Mind Numbing !

The Seventh Cup. A suspense-thriller novel which focuses on the Law of Attraction, having several versatile characters, set in various beautiful places and is loosely inspired from Rhonda Byrne's The Secret. Seems interesting ? Right ? Well, it surely is, and not just interesting but extremely engaging and mind numbing as well. It's damn hard to believe that this one is a debut novel. This book utterly challenges our preconceived notion about contemporary Indian writers. I absolutely love sus...

    Amazin... intriguing... mystery novel

A history student, Verona, suddenly went missing. After eight months, the case was handed to the newly married Swiss couple: Susanne and Thomas. With them, the mystery is solved, one step at a time. While the plot plays its course, the much awaited suspense is on its way. In all, the book succeeds to keep readers on the edge of their seats.

Right from the Chapter 0, the writing is intriguing. Some readers may consider it boring reading about the conversation between two strangers, right at ...

    A must read mystery

This story is so intricately woven that even a single description can reveal everything or make it into a confusing knot. There is a fine balance between the characters which are so complexly developed. What made the story really amazing for me was its plot development.

It seems like the story talks about mundane stuff. In the end, when everything is unwrapping that’s when I felt like throwing buckets of water over my head for not realizing the truth and where the story was heading. Not a si...
