Good Read and well sorted characters by Jo Nesbo

I took more than usual time to complete this book, but it was another Gem from Jo Nesbo...
When it comes to "Plot", he is in the league of Lee Child, Keigo Higashino and Stieg Larrson.. This Jo Nesbo book does not revolve around Harry Hole but altogether a different character name Sonny...

Sonny is a convicted prisoner who is on a Jail Term and stays high on Heroine. He gets knocked out of his high zone, when he stumbles upon an untold truth about his fathers' death.

Hits out of the Jail a...

I picked up this book just because I was attracted to its blurb. Sonny comes to know something about his disgraced father which changes his life. Now, he wants to get out of prison and punish all those who are responsible for his current situation. He has only one motto now- Kill or get Killed. Sonny is a heroin addict and confesses any crime as he is getting unlimited supply of heroin in prison. The book is written by Norwegian author- Jo Nesbo. The Son by Jo Nesbo starts slowly and is quite...

The Son - A gripping revenge thriller

This was my first Jo Nesbo novel and am I glad that I had delved into his world with The Son. While Jo Nesbo has been touted as the next Stieg Larrson, a generous comparison, I feel Nesbo brings his own style that is way different from Larrson, but is engaging nevertheless.

Without giving you with the details, I'd like to say that Nesbo takes us deep into the seedy drug infested underbelly of Norway, and we have a wide array of characters to keep us company. From the titular character who is...

    Jo Nesbo does it again

As a fan of Jo Nesbo's writing, I am happy to announce that his latest installment does not disappoint. He sticks to his edgy prose-writing skills and delivers a crisp and entertaining thriller. I think the translations of his books are very well done, if they are in fact translations, with him being Norwegian.
I thought the book was interesting and enjoyed reading it, however, in hindsight, I found some arenas that were a bit too unrealistic (yes, unrealistic in a work of fiction), such as...

    Highly recommend

I love this thriller. Jo Nesbo is an experienced hand at writing mysteries and his mastery really shows through in this book. He writes some terrific characters in Sonny and Simon.

Sonny is not the typical heroin addict. He is a very polite, well-behaved man, kind and gentle. He has a charisma and dignity that draws people towards him. His story is rarely told through his own voice, instead Nesbo uses the voices of the people who come across Sonny to draw an effective character portrait.
