    Description

The Terrorist is about the factors which push ordinary individuals into terrorism and the harsh ground situation in Kashmir, which forms the base of the situation.

    Summary Of The Book

The Terrorist talks about victims of circumstances and bases itself on the Kashmir situation. The two main protagonists Suvir and Murad, are a special Forces official and computer engineer respectively. Murad gives up his own secularism and falls prey to fanatic chauvinism at his workplace and neighbourhood. The Terrorist shows the transformation of Murad who crosses the border and becomes one of the most dreaded terrorists after meeting a rebellious group. Suvir has his own obsession with fatality. He has his own history of pain and anguish, after being rejected by his fiancee.

The Terrorist talks about Murad and Suvir who have both fallen prey to their circumstances. They choose a different path, numbed by the pain of personal loss. They choose terrorism and the Special Forces respectively. The book brings us to the ultimate climax: a major terrorist operation in Delhi where prevention and success become respective aims. Who wins? Readers can expect to be taken on a breathtaking journey all throughout the book. There is adequate usage of flashbacks along with some really nail biting encounters.

The novel moves across a variety of settings from a Srinagar cantonment to seedy hotels in Paharganj and malls in Gurgaon. Essential details are highlighted by the author like the Babri Masjid incident or terrorist blasts in Mumbai which give it ample doses of reality. The book delves deep into a terrorist’s minds, motives and reasons behind his choices and actions. The Terrorist presents a heady cocktail of fanaticism, insurgency situations and other national problems. The book is almost movie-like, with a plot bound to hook the reader till the very end.

    Superb Read

One word WOW!!! You cannot leave this book in the middle. The book packs an adrenaline punch in each page. The characters are very well etched and you can almost feel the pain of the terrorist.

The writer however does live some loose ends and the ending could have been a tad better. I mean the climax is superb and the action well described but the ending is kind o abrupt.
Nevertheless hats off to you Juggi Bhasin for this racy thriller :)

After a long time a good action induced novel from an Indian Author

For a first time writer Juggi Bhasin does a wonderful job in making the characters come alive. The characterization of the 2 main protagonists is done in every detail possible with emphasis to the environment they are in. Suvir a.k.a the good guy is the hero and the one with dark pasts who is trained in a 'shoot-to-kill' style. He can't forget his past which keeps coming back to haunt him and hence he joins the special forces which acts as a way of letting his frustration go out for him. Mura...

    Impressive debut!

This is a very tightly written work with a racy (and possibly realistic??) plot.

All the details that are required to aid the author along in the narrative are included, the training, facilities, social pressures, the hardships, gun-battles, and the proverbial blood, sweat and tears.

I'd recommend this book to anyone looking for a well written (fiction) book on terrorism in India. Great start Juggi!

    An honest opinion.

If Teesta Seetalvad, Ajmal Kasab and Hyderabad MP Owaisi could get together and write a novel it would be very much like this book “The Terrorist” by Mr. Bhasin. The writer seems to have a profound hatred for hindus and paints them as being by and large inherently evil, whose only purpose in life is to set dogs on aged and kind hearted muslim pensioners, a deed accompanied by the chanting of a hindu mantra and in full view of a hindu goddess or two – as it happens in the book. Muslims are cap...

    Wonderful Book

This is such a wonderful piece of work. It is an absolute page turner and each and every page is gripping.
But at one point is does get a bit stretchy, it seems necessary to give continuation to the next plot. Also at some points itseems as though enough stress is not given to issues.
A wonderful book which gives an insight to the world of army.

    Kudos to Juggi

Firstly, a very fast read.I am quite impressed with the book. Awesome. Very easily written. The background behind becoming a terrorist is touching though..even the training of the army, the endurance required, the grind is well described..
We can just thumb through the pages. I really loved to finish the book at jet speed.

    Huge Disappointment

When I bought this book, I thought it would be a riveting tale of India's fight against terror. Instead, it turned into what looks like a politically influenced, 'pseudo-secular' pile of dog poop.

The author tries every trick in the book to portray India as a land where Muslims have been discriminated against, beaten & deprived since time immemorial. He states through his book that it is only because of the evil & fascist Hindus that Islamic terror exists & how Hindus turn Muslims from law ...

    Waiting for the Movie

Gripping thrillers set in India and written by Indian authors, in English, are hard to come by. The Terrorist by Juggi Bhasin is a welcome addition to the ranks. Despite sketching out the characters and describing the actions in great detail, the narrative's pace does not slacken throughout the 500 odd pages. Multiple threads have been skilfully weaved into the story, running concurrently without a single strand straying out of pattern. Shades of black, white and grey in the characters surfac...
