The Uncanny is a biographical essay that explores the character of Leonardo da Vinci and discusses things about him that made Freud curious. In the essays, Freud has a lot to talk about when it came to the great artist’s sexuality. He tries to understand why Leonardo da Vinci’s pupils were always good-looking boys and what went on in his mind when he depicted the naked human body. This book contains some of Freud’s best writing and goes deep into childhood memories and conflicts.

About Sigmund Freud

Sigmund Freud is popularly known as the founding father of psychoanalysis. He was an Austrian neurologist and qualified as a doctor of medicine at the University of Vienna. He later carried out a research on cerebral palsy, aphasia and microscopic neuroanatomy at the Vienna General Hospital. He was also appointed as a university lecturer in neuropathy in 1885, and later became an affiliated professor.
