About Steven Pressfield
Steven Pressfield is a noted American historical fiction writer, screenplay writer and author. Steven Pressfield has also written Gates of Fire, Last of the Amazons, The Legend of Bagger Vance, The Virtues of War, Tides of War, Killing Rommel, The Afghan Campaign, The Profession, Do The Work, Turning Pro and The Warrior Ethos.
Born in Port of Spain, Trinidad, Steven Pressfield earned his graduation degree from Duke University and served in the Marine Corps. He has also worked as a fruit-picker, teacher, bartender, copywriter, mental hospital attendant, tractor driver and in oil fields. Steven Pressfield also has an online series collection including What It Takes, It’s the Tribes, Stupid, Writing Wednesdays, War Stories and The Creative Process. He has also written screenplays for various Hollywood films like Freejack, Joshua Tree and Above the Law. The Legend of Bagger Vance, his novel, was adapted into a film starring Will Smith and Matt Damon in 2000. He also made an appearance as a historian in the Last Stand of the 300 on The History Channel. He launched Black Irish Books, his own publishing house in 2012 with agent Shawn Coyne.
