This book will ruffle few feathers in film-industry

One of the Best Memoirs to read.

Pros:
Engaging. Sparking. Humoring. Saddening. Satisfying.

Cons:
You want more. You'll crave for more. You'd want to read "Continued..." on the last page.

The book should be a must-read for all aspiring actors, both for what they should do and what they shouldn't. They need to read Shah to know why they won't have as much fun as he did. And why they won't learn as much as he did. the most riveting chapters of And Then One Day are his early years, the autobi...

True Nasser Style

I have always been a big fan of Nasser films. May sound cliche but then that's it as a statement of fact. Unconventional looking but one of the most brilliant actors of our generation to have impacted Indian cinema. Nasser recounts his childhood days in UP, his tumultuous relationship with his father, days of intense struggle in theatre and in FTII, followed by training at NSD and finally breakthrough in the movie industry. What's noteworthy is that Nasser has written in very fine prose and w...

Honest Memoir

Extremely well written and honest memoir by someone who has been in public life. The books speaks about his early life to mid life to the point he actually became a star.
If you are looking for gossip from the film industry its hardly something you will get. But its a man journey from being a scared loserish boy in school to being this confident performer. His ups and downs in life and so on.
However, in certain parts he gets too trivial about his line of acting and how he arrived at...

An inspiring journey !

The way Mr. N.Shah speaks can make you sit and listen to him for hours. Its not just the way he speaks it's the content as well. I being his ardent fan since the time of Jane Bhi Do Yaaron of course can't wait to get hold of the memoir in his own words. And after going through half through ATOD, I must say it's a master piece by Khaluja yet again ! God bless !

One of the best!

It is honest, searingly honest. It is readable, eminently readable. It is fast paced, page-turner fast (imagine that in an autoB!). And does he have command on the lingo! He's good.

I've not yet finished the book but this great actor gives a very open glimpse into his personal life, there is not too much pontificating (as many others do), he is not pompous at all. He is very open about his shortcomings and accepts them just as they are, no apologies.

My only grouse - I'm reading this at su...

Complicated English

I was able to finish the book in a week but the issue with the writing is he has used many English words which are not commonly used so need a dictionary with you to understand the true meaning behind every sentence. Also, paid more attention to the period before he entered into mainstream cinema. It seems he had intentionally not written about the period once he became famous in Bollywood.
