There's No Love On Wall Street narrates the tale of Riya, a medical student who decides to join an investment banking company.

    Summary Of The Book

Riya Jain, the protagonist of the There's No Love On Wall Street is a pre-med student of Wellesley College. Pretty and smart, Riya is fascinated by the glitz and glamour of Wall Street. She dreams of handling expensive projects, partying at the nightclubs in New York, and enjoying corporate lunches. Riya gets a chance at a summer internship program with Goldstein Smith, a leading investment bank. When Riya starts her job, she realizes the grass is not as green as it seemed. Her boss turns out to be cruel, the work boring, the timings excruciating, and the parties dull. To add to her misery, the employees are ruthlessly manipulated by the seniors in the firm. Along with her friend, Ivana, Riya tries to manoeuvre through the selfish corporate world.

Her life gets more difficult when Sachin, who had helped Riya obtain the internship, wants repayment. He asks her to procure important documents from her department. Riya is unhappy with her work, and the only person who seems to be happy around her is Gautam Pandey, a former investment banker who now works as a financial journalist. Will Riya be able to repay Sachin? Will Riya become an investment banker? Or will all her hard work be in vain? Can money really bring happiness?

Published in 2011, this bestseller has garnered much attention from readers. There's No Love On Wall Street has been translated into Spanish and Greek.

    Fast and fun

Trivedi has really captured what is left of wall street and of the typical ambitious indian student - I love it. The perfectly-paced storyline has just enough intrigue, just enough detail and nrings just enough laughter. Having read her previous 2 books and several articles, her take on various cultural issues, although seemingly chick-flicky, is thought provoking. Def a must read and perfect for a flight.
