Thermoluminescence (TL) which is the emission of light as a result of heating a pre-irradiated semiconductor or insulator has found wide application in dating, dosimetry and defect studies of solids. The book consists of five chapters beginning with a historical introduction to TL and a brief discussion on the overall luminescence phenomenon. The book deals with different methods of analysis of TL process to extract the relevant trapping parameters using different models of TL based on the band theory of solids. A new method of analysis of TL process based on the skewness of TL curve has been developed. The book can be used effectively by established TL investigators and new students taking up TL research.
