    Description

That Thing Called Love, written by Tuhin A. Sinha, is a story of romance between an unlikely couple. A match-making website seems the perfect place to find the perfect partner. But for 29-year-old Mayank Sahai, the site’s ad-sales manager, this is a place of disillusionment. He has been searching for that elusive relationship, trying to find the perfect life partner. For a long time, this led him nowhere, but suddenly, he finds his ideal match. Unfortunately, she is a married woman, older than him. She is happily married and unlikely to be searching for a new relationship. The story of Mayank’s romance takes place during the monsoon season in Mumbai. The weather perhaps represents the murky nature of this love. Other characters form the background of this love affair are, a cheating male-chauvinist husband, a receptionist who is also a call girl, and another husband who is very understanding and supportive of his wife and waits for her to recover from a past relationship. In the middle of all these and the chaos caused by the weather and his love affair, Mayank seeks to find a balance between dream and reality.

Tuhin Sinha is from Jharkhand and has a post-graduate diploma in advertising and communication. He is a television script writer, guest columnist in Times of India and an author. That Thing Called Love is his first novel. The Captain is his second novel, set in the world of cricket. His third novel, Of Love and Politics, explores personal relationsship that transcend political ideologies and allegiances in the world of politics.

    Story telling at its best

The story is a dream and a harsh reality at the same time. I picked it from Crossword because I loved the cover. The story rightfully justifies the forlornness, pain and beauty of being in love! I loved the narration which is smooth, punctuated well with lighter thoughts for an otherwise intense plot, and extremely convincing in the world of fast paced urban lifestyle with unpredictable moralities. The story opens a secret door which asks, can you restrain yourself from the temptation of bein...

Of course story telling is at its best, but.........

If you are sensitive towards love, sorry to ask you to avoid this story! Of course story telling is at its best, no doubt.
Interesting is you can find professionalism in the writing which is impressive but the plot isn't convincing at all [for me]. My apologies to all who liked it but it's what I felt after completing it. May be bcoz I can sense some sort of disappointment inside me even for few days after completing it.
I liked Tuhin's work before I ordered this book, donno why all the chara...

    Good to read!

a very good story to read. though it is the love story of different kind, but if you are a broad- minded, then you will feel how fair their relation was. Love happens like that. true but some relations are destined to make a road, but are not destined to reach its destination. many would say, the end is sad, but I would say, the end is appropriate.

    Not Good Enough

The content of the book is not so interesting. The guy keeps meeting girls for marriage and other not so good stories intermingled. Personally, I didn't like the book at all.

I will never look forward to your work Mr. Author because this book is disappointing to the core.

that thing calld love (or piece of shit)?

This was the first time I have read a Tuhin Sinha book; and was utterly disappointed.
The story is about a bunch of losers.
Mayank, the lead character, is a 29 yr old confused man, who still hasn't been able to get over the love of his life - his college sweetheart called Shweta. Inspite of being engaged to a girl called Reva, he falls for an older woman called Revathi and pursues her with all his good for nothing energies.
He not only is irratic, he is immature, clingy and obsessed with this...

    Cant call it literature!!!

Had got this book as a gift and I still dislike that person for that. An extremely poor and almost disgusting effort at writing. the storyline is non existent, the writing is listless and the overall effect is well !!!! Forgettable.

    great read so far

While waiting for my wife to shop i started passing time at cross word and picked a copy of the book. Next half an hour till i was shaken to a reality that shopping was over in that part of mall made me feel that i was engrossed in teh book already and immly bought it. yesterday noght i finished half the book in one sitting. I agree with most reviews written already. The book has amazingly simplistic narrations and you can associate yourself with the characters - i agree you should have lived...
