About the Author

Before turning into a full-time writer, Afghan-born American novelist Khaled Hosseini was a physician. It was Hosseini’s debut book The Kite Runner, which was set in Afghanistan and featured an Afghan as the protagonist, that brought him fame and urged him to retire from medicine to pursue writing. Apart from The Kite Runner, Khaled Hosseini has written three other books - A Thousand Splendid Suns (2007), And the Mountains Echoed (2013) and Sea Prayer (2018). Currently, he lives with his wife and two children in Northern California.

Enlightening story about women of Afghanistan, love, loss, war and hope!

I'm so glad that I read "A Thousand Splendid Suns". I learned about so many things about Afghanistan I wasn't aware of like Soviate invasion, mujahideen, taliban & then cleanup by America.

There is heartache, joy, tenderness, pain, regret, sacrifice,..so much enfolded into this masterpiece and told with such depth you can almost feel the oppression that the women lived through.

Must buy!

I genuinely can't describe how much I love this book, I have heard so many reviews of this book but never thought this could be that much true . and hosseini's story telling technique is mesmerizing. you just can't resist yourself from reading it and there is an unexpected sense of thrill you will get to see . loved it

I got the book soon as promised, I was delighted by the quality of the book. Now let me talk about the book. When you listen to the rhythm and harmony of threads of thoughts from a blessed author your mind soothes. I loved the way Khaled Hosseini exclaimed his emotions. I loved his writing style to the moon and back. The book is not at all draggy. If you read the first page itself you will be trapped because, you won't be able to leave the book and go.
