The present book is largely based on nature and the life-style of the Europeans during colonial administration in Jabalpur. The first story reflects the consequences of interfering with nature. Because Jabalpur had been a strong colonial base, second and the third stories are an effort to understand and bring into light the lives of the Europeans during that time. The fourth story makes an effort to show the temperament of an ordinary human being.
