    one cant stop noticing the gradual journey of the drum into the only and faithful companion of Oskar, who on his third birthday, decides not to grow any more.

    surely one of the finest written books. its dealing with the devilish halves of people is appreciable. and obviously the style does more than instigate those dark feelings ever more. the more one reads the more he gets convinced about the existence of another personality lurking in everyone's insides. as for the drum, one cant just do without it, like Oskar. it was Oskar's quest, to stay amidst the grown ups, who didnt know anything about a much older man trapped inside a three year old body....
