Brilliant work, very informative.

The way the author has described the foundations that lead to the birth of Pakistan, right from the mughal period till the partition is nothing short of being called a excellent work. Views that are not so popular and opinions of many eminent persons have been dealt with by the book. Also the position post-partition has been described by the author exposing the ideological conflicts that lead Pakistan to the present situation.

A very informative book that helps the reader to understand the ...

Wonderful book - Future could be dropped from the title

I really thought Mr M J Akbar will predict the future of Pakistan in the last chapter or something. But nevertheless its a master piece. It started from Md bin Quasim to Osama Bin Laden. What are the ingredients that lead to Pakistan and its failure afterwards. If you get something on charity (or easily) then you tend to loose it that easily. Congress had years of struggle behind them before an Independent India while few opportunistic people got it by playing to the gallery.

Excellent read

Delivery took 9 days to reach. Overall condition of book was good except for few brown spots on the sides.
Content of the book is fantastic. MJ Akbar makes it easy to understand how conditions for partition developed and how things went after partition in pakistan. History of past 2 centuries packed in 350 odd pages.

Excellent work.

Hats off to M J Akbar for writing such an enormously informative book. This can be termed as a beauty of soul-searching and dry-honest journalism.
The book tells you the complete story and all the factors leading to the formation of Pakistan and how they reached to a pathetic state of today. After reading this book you may reach this "Idea of India is better than India whereas idea of Pakistan is worse than its present state". This book also drives off some myth about Jinnah & his role in th...
