Why is there a shipping charge for this item?

Sellers with Flipkart Assured waive off the delivery charge for Orders over Rs 500. For Orders under Rs 500, a nominal delivery charge is added per item.

Sellers without Flipkart Assured may or may not add a delivery charge to your Order. This is subject to Seller discretion.

What is the estimated delivery time?

Sellers generally procure and ship the items within the time specified on the product page. Business days exclude public holidays and Sundays.

Estimated delivery time depends on the following factors:

      • The Seller offering the product
      • Product's availability with the Seller
      • The destination to which you want the order shipped to and the Seller's location

Why does the delivery date not correspond to the delivery timeline of X-Y business days?

It is possible that the Seller or our courier partners observe a holiday between the day you placed your order and the date of delivery, which is based on the timelines shown on the product page. In this case, we add a day to the estimated date. Some courier partners and Sellers do not work on Sundays and this is factored in to the delivery dates.

Products‘In Stock’ are readily available with seller.

Sometimes, items have to be sourced by Sellers from outside India. These items are mentioned as 'Imported' on the product page and can take at least 10 days or more to be delivered to you.

      'Back In Stock Soon'

The item is popular and is sold out. You can however 'book' an order for the product and it will be shipped according to the timelines mentioned by the Seller.

      'Out of Print'

This product is not available because it is no longer published and has been permanently discontinued.

Why does the estimated delivery time vary for each seller?

Delivery times are influenced by product availability, geographic location of the Seller, your shipping destination and the courier partner's time-to-deliver to your location.

Please enter your default pin code on the product page to know more accurate delivery times on the product page itself.

Seller does not/cannot ship to my area. Why?

Enter your pincode on the product page to know whether the product can be delivered to your location.

If you haven't provided your pincode until the checkout stage, the pincode in your last used shipping address will be used to check for serviceability.

Whether your location can be serviced or not depends on:

      • Whether the Seller actually ships to your location
      • Legal restrictions, if any, in shipping particular products to your location
      • The availability of reliable courier partners in your location

At times Sellers prefer not to ship to certain locations. This is entirely at their discretion.

The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make A Big Difference is a book that explores how understanding the nature of social epidemics helps in comprehending the sociological changes in one’s life.

    Summary Of The Book

Malcolm Gladwell, the world renowned journalist and author, examines the social epidemics surrounding the lives of common men and offers a fresh perspective on the world. The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make A Big Difference is a book that talks about change and helps the reader understand why changes happen so unexpectedly and quickly. Drawing inspiration from sociology, psychology, and epidemiology, the book offers an intellectual adventure story that is loaded with examples from the different worlds of fashion, media, business, and even education.

Gladwell defines the three fundamentals that can be applied to social epidemics such as rumors and trends. The bases of his theories are three key points which are The Power of Context, The Stickiness Factor, and The Law of the Few. He makes use of several case studies like the story of the Hush Puppies and the decreasing crime rate in New York City, to prove his point.

Tipping point is that magical moment of time when a trend, social behavior, or an idea crosses a threshold and spreads like fire, just like an epidemic. He argues that just the way a sick person can initiate an epidemic of the flu, similarly messages, products, behavior, and ideas can spread like infectious diseases. The book deals with certain specific situations where the concept of tipping point was used and the author explains how this concept can help people solve the numerous problems they encounter in their everyday life.

He examines a variety of events and situations such as direct mail, fashion trends, children’s television, and smoking to explain how a social epidemic and be started and sustained. He draws parallels between the behavior and volatility of human sociological problems and epidemics. Gladwell emphasizes the fact that right intervention at the right time is most crucial and on the other hand years of efforts at an intervention may turn out to be futile if not applied at the right time.

First published in 2000 by Little Brown, The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make A Big Difference sold 1.7 million copies in the first six years. An internationally-acclaimed bestseller, it uses the tipping point phenomenon to help people throughout the world change the way they think about trading products and spreading ideas.

    Some facts are pretty good

Gladwell wrote a decent book. He gave very good reasons for some incidents in past why they tipped but when it comes to give solution of some problems today, he didnt mention any valid points. Its a worth to read for extensive readers but if you read rarely then this is not a book to read.

I guess all Malcolm Gladwell's are full of facts. This guy has really done his home work. Non-Fiction has to be backed up by solid real examples and this book is full of that. (TIP: read the book at one go, reading it with intervals is not recommended, as you may forget the previous points). You really need to LEARN this book, ITS EXCITING SCIENCE!!

    One point book

Well researched and presented book, the entirety of which is devoted to proving and expanding upon the central premise - that something achieves high visibility, or goes viral, only because of a small segment of highly social, well-connected, people. That's it. The rest of the book is devoted to explaining and proving that one statement, without bringing forth any new ideas. If the central theme interests you, it's a highly recommended book. If you're looking for a collection of ideas or broa...

Excellent Book an Absolute Eye Opener

I would recommend this book to every one who is interested in understanding the dynamics of life. Its not just the business but the perception of a person about a situation which has to be changed. How can a small drop create an avalanche? This book explains how little changes and small incidents end up changing the world for good or better.

When i was reading the book someone remarked, "An MBA in the Making?" or " An MBA at Work". I wonder why only management students should read this book....

"The world - much as we want to does not accord to our intuition".the book talks about how a little cue in the right direction is a far smarter and superior way than looking for comprehensive, dogged sollutons to problems.why is it that some things go over the roof, stick, become contagious? this book gives very pragmatic, logical explainations by incorporating examples from all walks of life. enjoy reading!

Takes you behind the scenes of how events become phenomenas. A very good read.

Its a very good book but be warned its not everybody's cup of tea. You'll enjoy it immensely though if you by nature are curious and enjoy fresh ways of looking at things. In my opinion its a must read for college students and marketing professionals & enthusiasts.

A good start but gets lost midway

The book starts with some really thought provoking concepts like the law of stickiness , connectors , mavens etc However, some of the exmaples stated were unable to supplement the concepts well.

Also, the book gets a little philosophical midway with little less emphasis on the practical examples from the industry. A little more case studies apart from Hush Puppies, Airwalk , New York crime rates etc would have really gripped the reader on to the end.

Overall, a decent read with an interesti...
