Brilliant Book
This is a lovely book and I recommend this book to every person who visited this page. It's a must read. I actually read this book after seeing the movie which is not good however the book is simply mind blowing : - )

A fabulous book
I remember reading an excerpt of this book in 9th grade and so was very keen on reading it...Its a great story of a teacher who wins the love and respect of his students who are prejudiced because of the colour of his skin....Really a great read...

Book to remember throughout life
This is the book is about a very simple but great man who had to face racial degradation and various obstacles and educate slum children... What a wonderful teacher he turned out to be.One of the best books I have ever come across and a must read.I recommended this book to everybody.

I read this book when I was in Grade Nine.I read it now as a practising teacher.It makes a difference.I think every teacher must read this.It gives you an insight and goads you to be unbiased and kind to children under your care.I wish Vintage classic collection had taken more care about the quality of print and paperback binding though.
