A third-person cover-based shooter, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier’s gameplay can also be switched to a first-person shooter when aiming downwards. Only the Multiplayer Campaign has matchmaking. This game features a prototype active camouflage system called “optical camouflage” which can be used when a person is moving slowly. The player can also control drones in order to vanquish one's enemy. The Gunsmith feature lets the player customize and use weapons with attachments, alternative optics, barrels, trigger groups and more in both multiplayer and single-player modes. As the player completes challenges and missions, they will be able to unlock various weapons. In the multiplayer mode, players unlock weapons as they level their characters.
