As always, Transcend is one of the best devices for data backup, be it pen-drive or hard-drive. Now that cost per byte is less, it makes sense to go for big space and take a backup of invaluable data. 1 TB at this price-point is pretty reasonable.

With its multilayer protection, I feel peace of mind.

Have been usingit for a couple of weeks now, the drive performs great. The copy speeds from Windows 7 file copier varies between different file type, but if you are using any third part file copier you get a steady speed of around ~110 MBps. The only issue that i have experienced is that when i connect it using my front USB ports, it keeps getting disconnected. I think it is a power issue, and the problem is that the usb cable provided doesn't have two headers so that you can get extra power ...

Its a nice deal. The drive works just fine. There is no issue of data transfer rate and all as its working on upto 25MBps transfer rate. The design and look is also good. The backup button adds a nice touch. Overall a good product at a good price. :) I'm fully satisfied.

The product is a steal at the price. Plug and play, shock resistant, ample storage . On a Mac, I see about 930 GB of free space on it, but that is good enough for me, I paid about 3600 for it. Flipkart might hike the price I suppose.

This is an awesome future proof HDD which you must have! The triple layer protection and the thick connecting USB3 cable is all you need for this thing to last at least 10-15 years! Plus, the lightning fast USB 3! Though I believe it can shoot up more, but I have seen 70MBytes/sec a normal rate when transferring compressed files:)
On USB 2 it will still give you an average of 25MBytes/sec which is ok.
Still, get a USB 3 port. Its high time now!
