To correct some misconceptions.. yes there are 2 usb connectors in the drive , but you only need to connect one usb cable.. the other is NEVER used.

The drive is simply beautiful.. rugged .. great color combo .. and sets itself apart from other external drives that are a dime a dozen.

Speeds are great although not the best but superb for the package they deliver in.( Note the drive is 5400 rpm.. not 7200 rpm)

Shock proofing is great and i actually bounced it around a bit :P

Ok, I'll be frank: You CAN'T get a better product than this. I bought the External Hard Disk about 6 months ago. I was skeptical, but this product just swept me away.

Pros:
1. The Disk comes drop-tested. So it's perfect for rough-users like me.It's silicone case prevents internal damage. not only that, it is very light. I've dropped mine many times, even sat on it. This thing works perfectly. I just can't get over it.

Been using this ExHD for almost a year now and its worked astonishingly well. Having a 3.0 connection helps because the speeds go upto 90mb/s (Macbook Pro 2012/256gb SSD/8gb RAM). The build quality is good and the rubber padding feels pretty secure, though I haven't tested it (hopefully wouldn't have to). After using 3 unreliable and flimsily built Seagate ExHDs for around 5 years, I can safely recommend you not to but them and this instead.

while copying file size of 4gb or more it is continuously giving 32 Mb write speed in Linux.

Flipkart is as usual the best. Got it within 3 days of order and i always liked flipkart's COD payment option.

The product is great, only ruggedized hd in market.
Transfer speed (usb 2.0) 20mb/s without any software, too good.

And the most important it only has ONE usb port for usb 2.0 and 3.0, NO separate ports or NO two ports as others were saying.

I ordered the hard disk on 24th jan 2012 and received it the very next day. Quicker delivery by flipkart. The hard disk was enclosed in a proper box.

The hard disk looks rugged better than wd's looks as it is prone to scratches in a long run. The drive do comes with a two canle to be plugged to your system and the other end to your drive. It is recommended by transcend to do so to get adequate power.

The USB 3.0 speeds are good though. Havent tried USB 2.0.

In a nutshell, a value for money.

After a lot of follow-up emails I got the item delivered to me after 9 days time.

As Flipkart promised, it is definitely a genuine fresh item.

Everything has been except for the delay in delivery because of the courier people (not because of FlipKart and I am hoping that Flipkart would do something about it).

I had to format the HD in NTFS to be able to copy large files (It didnt allow me otherwise). This HD looks very solid and gives only 931 GB usable space.
