One of the best in recent times by an Indian author

One of the best one read in recent time by an Indian author. The plot created in backdrop of Kashmir has been handled very well despite the controversy attached, narrated through a tale of relationships and friendship is simply awesome. Full credit goes to the author for building the story so well. The development of the characters who are so real and grey is praise worthy. A refreshing and very different read from a young author in the time of so many me too type books. Well done Sanchit Gupta.

    Awesome

"If a criminal was once a saint & a saint was once a criminal, then who is the criminal & who is the saint?" - a wonderful line from a wonderful book. I am glad I got chance to read 'The Tree with a Thousand Apples" by Sanchit Gupta.

It is a story of Deewan, Bilal, and Safeena. A Kashmiri pandit family of Deewan has to leave J&K within a day. It is like you get only 20 minutes to pack things which you have gathered or nurtured for life. Bilal, a Kashmiri Muslims, who turned into terrorist du...

    MUST READ

Just finished reading The Tree with a Thousand Apples and really loved it. Reminded me of books like Kite Runner on Afganistan or The Princess on Saudi Arabia. Its high time someone told the story of Kashmir and he has done it beautifully and done justice to the complexity of everyone being right and wrong.

    Mind-blowing purchase

I like books that are fast paced and easy to read. While this one is definitely gripping, it is also hard-hitting. I could remember The Boy in the striped Pajamas while I was reading it, and in a lot of ways Kiterunner. It's a book easy to finish and very difficult to forget.

    Extraordinary

An extraordinary journey of 3 children who for no fault of their own are caught in the middle of a turmoil. This is a gripping page turner novel which will have your attention till the last page. Despite being a fictional story, it tells so aptly the story of everyone connected to Kashmir. This book has the potential to change something. Loved the writing style which is seldom found in most Indian authors.
