Intensely emotional tale of true love

I grabbed this book from a store just to test it out after seeing the dashing purple on the cover (which happens to be my favorite)! And straight for five hours after that I was seated on the drifty bean bag inside the store, savoring the delightful words all over these 310 pages of this book of love.
Every single page, each well-crafted word is a delight to the reader and takes one back to one's school days or days of one's first love, which I am sure everyone cherishes and misses. A lot of ...

Deserving winner of The National Debut Youth Fiction Award

Truly Madly Deeply as a story touches a person like no other book written in recent times. The last I remember was Erich Segal's 'Love Story' doing this to me. Here, in India Ravinder Singh's 'I too had a love story' comes close but compared to Kazi's writing style, the emotional aspect of Truly Madly Deeply really stands out.
The initial part of the story takes us to the characters, Rahul and Seema- through Rahul's eyes and what she means to him so as to connect the reader with her for what ...

    Enjoyed reading

Exquisite detailing. One of the sweetest love stories ever. And that too by an Indian author. Simple story, well fabricated and seems like you almost live it along with the characters, which ultimately makes you happier with the turn of every page. But that happiness is just a literary marvel, the essence of the book is of last love and at times you can literally feel the pain of the main character, Rahul. Promising debut. Recommend it to all those who possess a heart.

This book can melt a stone

I felt the book was a little slow to take off but even then I enjoyed it. The cover is really catchy and incidents in the book call out to your innermost desires. Strong sentences and some really brave metaphors make the book a literary sensation in its category. Kazi has woven a tale of unrequited love in a very suave manner.
Teenage love. I really could not find any other suitable competitor in this category. This book stands out in the crowd, though some situations are arguable. I think pe...

    Great narration

If there is one word to describe this book, it is SUPERB. It is a teenage romance essentially with such broad proportions that it is applicable to one and all who has ever fallen in love. Kazi weaves a tale, so heavily laden with life's emotions that you can't help but marvel in awe at the debutant author's expertise and creation. Yes, as my fellow reviewers maintain, you live this tale along with Rahul, the lead character who is an alpha male that can bash up villains when provoked, romance ...

    Seminal Work In It's Genre

Truly Madly Deeply is a book of surreal emotions that never refuse to fizzle out with the turning of pages. This book makes it astonishingly surprising how sometimes silly yet pragmatic life problems can plague and occupy the center of our life, esp. during our teens.
The author's writing style is rock steady and words seem to flow in a charismatic manner and don't thrive on sex or glory like so many new-age Indian authors do.
The author focuses on hardcore romance and for the first time I se...

    Interesting book

It is a unique story involving two teenage lovers. Some memorable characters coupled with an interesting flow make this story note-worthy of praise. The author narrates the story through flashback and has carried out the same wonderfully. However, I felt that the author could have shortened the story a bit to make even greater impact. Rahul's pain and Seema's beauty stay in the mind long after you have turned the last page. I'm glad I read this one.

    A rare title

A tragical love story with so many different dimensions. Well narrated by the author. One of the rare books you will be happy to shed tears on (after reading the story). It will make you sit up and bow down your heads before love.

    Unforgettable story

I am not quite a reader of sentimental romance novels but this book changed my opinion about such stories. When this book made me laugh, all it did was make me laugh. When it made me cry, all it did was made me shed those tears of frustration from the past. This is not just a book, it's a tool to relive (not relieve) your first love. I wanted to keep the book down, not because it was bad but I couldn't afford to change myself again. I did end up reading it completely, simply cuz it would have...

    Perfect love indulgence

"Truly Madly Deeply" is an honest account of a broken-heart written in the literary way that Indian writing has long forgotten. Introducing Rahul Kapoor, the protagonist who every school boy dreams of becoming. Flamboyant and handsome are adjectives that describe him until he meets Seema, who as the author says, is his female equivalent and every guy from school has a huge crush on her. The story in the flashback starts with great witty humor and interesting scenarios between the lead charact...
