    Description

Every individual has a mentor - someone they look up to, someone whose reflections stick with them as they move on with their lives. Morrie Schwartz was Mitch Albom’s mentor, as Mitch spent a significant amount of time with Morrie every Tuesday, a routine that brought about an unconscious difference in Mitch’s life.

After 16 years, Mitch moves ahead with his life and Morrie’s insights slowly fade away over time. With a scheme to find answers to questions that have been haunting him for a very long time, Mitch Albom sets off in search of Morrie Schwartz, his long lost alliance.

Albom finally succeeds in finding his mentor, but to his dismay, finds out that Morrie is living through the last days of his life. Morrie is critically ill and afflicted with ALS, a motor neuron disease. Mitch decides to make the most of his rendezvous and recreates the past by meeting him every Tuesday evening. In Tuesdays With Morrie: An Old Man, A Young Man And The World’s Greatest Lesson, Mitch shares the wise words that Morrie had for him during his last days.

Oprah Winfrey adapted this book as a TV show starring Hank Azaria and Jack Lemmon in the year 1999. The show went on to become a hit, receiving four Emmy Awards. An Off Broadway play was also produced in the fall of 2001, co-authored by Jeffrey Hatcher and Albom.

Tuesdays With Morrie: An Old Man, A Young Man And The World’s Greatest Lesson was first published in the year 1997. This edition of the book was published in 1998. In October 1997, the book entered the New York Times bestsellers list and reached the top of the list six months later. Judged as a bestselling memoir, the book remained on the bestsellers list for a period of 205 weeks.

A bible to tide you over rought and stormy weather

I read this book in the year 2008. A neighbor who felt no need for it, passed it down to me. This book is a must-read and I have referred it too whoever has been going through a tough time in life. It helps you decide what you really wants and answers many questions we all tend to have, about life and living in general. Read it, it might not be as exciting and fast paced as your Fifty Shades, but speaks to your soul and touches you deep inside. It makes you cry and smile, sometimes all at the...

    Must Read!

I was speechless when for the first time I went through the book. The university prof. has his own way of observing things which is so broadening and so refreshing. Now I can't remember how many times i have read this book ( not necessarily only on Tuesdays :) )but trust me I always find the same excitement, same delight. Mitch Albom has brought his loving teacher to interact with us so that we can learn the profound meaning of life and in the process Mitch himself becomes a prolific writer!

An amazing philosophical novel that can change a life

This philosophical novel has proved to be an amazing one. I was spellbound when I was just done reading the last page of it. This book is about a dying man named Morrie Schwartz suffering from ALS a deadly disease, imparting his realization about the meaning of life and death to his former student, the author of this book, Mitch Albom. The excellence of his thoughts made me search on internet who this Morrie Schwartz actually was and I found a series of videos on Youtube, named Morrie: Lesson...

    Introspection is the word

I cannot say why I picked up this particular book but I did it. I hadn't expected philosophy and I hadn't ever expected that I would endure so many aphorisms, being a person who despised reading preachy stuff. But, somehow I enjoyed reading it even though some parts of it were long, boring and written in bad taste.

I can see the book targets the larger audience of today's world where people are as lost as objects in the sea bobbing up and down, for some direction. Miraculously, the books ma...
