Why is there a shipping charge for this item?

Sellers with Flipkart Assured waive off the delivery charge for Orders over Rs 500. For Orders under Rs 500, a nominal delivery charge is added per item.

Sellers without Flipkart Assured may or may not add a delivery charge to your Order. This is subject to Seller discretion.

What is the estimated delivery time?

Sellers generally procure and ship the items within the time specified on the product page. Business days exclude public holidays and Sundays.

Estimated delivery time depends on the following factors:

      • The Seller offering the product
      • Product's availability with the Seller
      • The destination to which you want the order shipped to and the Seller's location

Why does the delivery date not correspond to the delivery timeline of X-Y business days?

It is possible that the Seller or our courier partners observe a holiday between the day you placed your order and the date of delivery, which is based on the timelines shown on the product page. In this case, we add a day to the estimated date. Some courier partners and Sellers do not work on Sundays and this is factored in to the delivery dates.

Sometimes, items have to be sourced by Sellers from outside India. These items are mentioned as 'Imported' on the product page and can take at least 10 days or more to be delivered to you.

      'Back In Stock Soon'

The item is popular and is sold out. You can however 'book' an order for the product and it will be shipped according to the timelines mentioned by the Seller.

Why does the estimated delivery time vary for each seller?

Delivery times are influenced by product availability, geographic location of the Seller, your shipping destination and the courier partner's time-to-deliver to your location.

Please enter your default pin code on the product page to know more accurate delivery times on the product page itself.

Seller does not/cannot ship to my area. Why?

Enter your pincode on the product page to know whether the product can be delivered to your location.

If you haven't provided your pincode until the checkout stage, the pincode in your last used shipping address will be used to check for serviceability.

Whether your location can be serviced or not depends on:

      • Whether the Seller actually ships to your location
      • Legal restrictions, if any, in shipping particular products to your location
      • The availability of reliable courier partners in your location

At times Sellers prefer not to ship to certain locations. This is entirely at their discretion.

From the best-selling author of the Ramayana Series comes a book that can change your life.

Maxing our career is our ‘dharma’ in this age of Kali. But at what cost? Working parents don’t see enough of their children, couples barely spend time with each other, young men and women become strangers to their families and friends. And here’s the irony–most of us mention our families and loved ones as the main reason for why we strive towards success, without realizing that we stand to lose them in this very quest.

So how do we strike a balance between our careers and our families?

In his first major work of non-fiction, bestselling author Ashok K. Banker goes back to Puranic sources to address this question. He writes of Ratnakaran the bandit, who made a living out of killing and looting to support his family, and his transformation into Valmiki, the sage. Using his story and contemporary stories from today, he shows us how they contain the answers to today’s most pressing issue: how to prioritize, manage, and enhance our personal as well as professional lives.

Insightful, thought-provoking, and utterly inspiring, The Valmiki Syndrome is a map to the most elusive treasure of modern existence–personal fulfillment.

    About the Author
Ashok K. Banker began his career in market research, advertising and direct marketing before working as a successful journalist breaking front-page news stories for Times of India and Outlook, scripting award-winning documentaries and television serials before returning to his first love, writing books. His Epic India Library is an attempt to retell all the major myths, legends and itihasa of the Indian subcontinent in one enormous story-cycle comprising over 70 volumes. It includes his internationally acclaimed and bestselling Ramayana Series, Krishna Coriolis, and Mahabharata Series. His books have sold over 1.2 million copies in 56 countries and 12 languages worldwide. The Valmiki Syndrome is the first book in his Vedic Wisdom series that applies the insights of ancient puranic texts to modern-day problems.

    ok.... sort of..

After reading his Ramayana Series and Krishna Coriolis, you tend to expect high things out of Ashok Bnker. The book, supposedly not a self help book, reads like one, and a boring one at that. Three people’s stories extremely predictable, and therefore uninteresting. If you are expecting a Prince of Ayodhya sort of thing, you will be hugely disappointed. Buy it only if you are a huge fan of the author (like myself) and can read anything he writes in his style – even if it is crap.

    So boring i could kill!

Such a boring and amateur sense of writing. Very very disappointed.

I felt like i was reading a play..,.. and does it speak of something new? Absolutely nothing. No indepth insights. The story line of each of the characters does not captivate the reader and really very very poor literature.

    Dont waste your money.

    The Valmiki Syndrome

The author has tried to bring out the ancient wisdom as applicable to the contemporary issues faced by today's youth with high aspirations and struggling to get the best of both the worlds. The book may get a little boring in between because of the lengthy narrative of the stories, however, i feel the last few chapters put everything in the right context that the author is trying to articulate. It gives a macro view of balancing various aspects of life, specifically career, family and persona...

    Very ordinary

After reading the review given in the cover page of the book, i got impressed and purchased the book. The book started well with stories in different dimensions. At the end of the story the author tried to give the tactics of balancing career and family but he failed. The last chapters of the book is totally vague. There are more number of repetition and there is no concrete message given about balancing family and career. Totally vague...

    The Title tells you all

Ashok Banker is one of my fav authors. I loved his Ramayana series and I am glued to the MBa series..

I ordered this novel just because of Ashok Banker...This book goes about telling 3 different stories ... each one revolving around the same theme. The author has tried to explain the importance of work life balance in a ll his stories. So in a way, the only outcome of this book is that finding the work-life balance is important. And the title very precisely says the same thing.
