    Clever, witty, and amusing!

All the while I was reading this book, I had this familiar feeling – not in terms of content, but in terms of the style of writing and the way the book made me feel – and it took me another three months to realize what felt that way. The book fondly reminds me of the works of Lewis Carroll. Which is also to say that the book is well written.

The book is easy to read, light, and absolutely amusing so that anyone from an eight year old to an any year old can dig into it and finish with a smil...

    imaginative and exciting

This is a fascinating story which will be enjoyed by children and adults alike. It's a lively blend of action, adventure, humour and fantasy. Vanamala's adventures as she travels through three world in search of her sister, will keep readers hooked. Charming fables about the Cephalopod and his fantasy world, appear through the story. They slow down the action a bit, and dilute the scariness of the Cephalopod. The colourful descriptions and the author's unique brand of humour makes up for any ...

    An imaginative story

A review by my 9 year old son:
I found the story very imaginative. The species referred to in the story were intriguing and fun to read about. There were some very cool bits in it like being able to go to different world through a trough, a city that existed alongside a forest that you could see only bits of like spirits. There were a few things that I could not understand but I enjoyed the book a lot.

I'd like to be/ Under the sea/ In an octopus's garden in the shade!

This is a really exciting, funny and original book that any child will love! Vanamala has accidentally sold her sister Pingu to the mysterious and powerful Cephalopod. This is the story of Vanamala's quest for Pingu in the kingdom of the Basavan (the lofty Zebu who may have an answer to her questions), and in the Cephalopod's underwater world. The illustrations are unusual and eye-catching and the whole production is delightful! But it's not just for the kids. It has a subtle humour that will...
