VIDUTHALAI / விடுதலை  (Tamil, Paperback, Anton Balasingham)

Early 1990s. The period when the Tamil Eelam Liberation War was in full swing. As the voice of liberation of the Tamil nation, the 'Velicham' magazine was coming out of Jaffna carrying art and literary works that see the realities of the life of the struggle. Mr. Karunakaran was the editor and poet Puthuvai Rathinathurai was the managing editor of this art and literature magazine published by the LTTE's Art and Culture Institute. My friend Puduvai insisted that my works should be published as articles in ‘Light’ magazine. In the context of that day it was very difficult to write with a political workload. Yet the love of novelty had no choice but to give in to the harassment and stress. So, I decided to write in the light. The question of what to write, however, arose. Puduvai commissioned the youth generation - especially the student community - to write something that would inspire new and revolutionary thinking. I finally wrote. Under my old nickname ‘Brahmanjani’, I wrote articles and series in the journal ‘Light’. We select important articles from them, edit them, expand some of them and republish them in this volume. Also included are some of the political articles.
