Shows the strength of human mind

Vishwamitra is Dr Vineet's début book but the writing style and narration convey the maturity of an erudite writer. The book is an easy read and can be completed in one sitting by most readers also because despite not being a thriller the book is interesting and keeps the reader engaged all throughout. Though the overarching theme is mythology, it is to author's credit that the book manages to convey a deeper meaning that human spirit should know no bounds. As you read through the pages prota...

Nice read...

As a child I had the chance to hear lots of mythological stories and Vishwamitra was one who kind of intrigued me. The fact that he was a mere mortal like any of us but became one of the most powerful Brahmarishis added to the mystery. I had seen a film on Vishwamitra too but was too young to comprehend many things. I chanced upon this book at the Delhi airport and bought it out of curiosity.

And i found it a simple and pleasurable read. Finished it in one sitting. Despite being the author's...

I have to say that it is a truly wonderful debut by Dr. Vineet Aggarwal.

"The Man who dared to challenge the gods-VISHWAMITRA"
I have to say that it is a truly wonderful debut by Dr. Vineet Aggarwal.
As an MBA Student, I studied Maslow's theory of hierarchy of needs where 'self actualization' is the ultimate goal for which all human persons strive, it can be summed up by 'what a man can be, he must be'.
A very powerful character of Vishwamitra in this book will surely take readers on a journey of self discovery/self actualization.
A man's action makes him what he ...

Perfect blend of mythology, fiction and science, a must read book...

It gives me immense pleasure to convey my gratitude Vineet, for the piece of work you have shared with us - "Vishwamitra". I really appreciate the way of narration throughout the script and the message passed on to mankind - "Human who rise above the confines of his physical and mental boundaries to fight fate can take charge of his own destiny". The perfect blend of mythlogy with science was like double cherry on the pie. "Vishwamitra" is expertly researched and written with such a clear dep...

Sheer Brilliance! A Remarkable Journey!

Never have I read a mythological book so intensely detailed. It clearly reveals the amount of research been done by the author before it arrived into the reader's hands. I thoroughly enjoyed the author's imagination that has been amazingly presented! I could have finished the book in one go. But I thought of extending this fabulous adventure with some brief pauses to relive the events in my imagination :) ! The use of scientific terms in this great mythological saga to explore the logical pos...

Riveting, simple and entertaining...

I found the book an easy read. The storytelling is simple and entertaining. The story is paced in such a way that you want to move to the next chapter to see what he does. I really enjoyed meeting Vishwamitra in these pages and in turn disliked him and rooted for him. If you are looking for a research manual then this will not be the right book for you. But if you are looking for a riveting and entertaining read then this may be for you. I am just glad that someone is taking other characters ...

Excellent read.

Honestly, the choice of writing about the character of Vishwamitra did not fascinate me initially. However, I knew the book would be worth a read for I was familiar with the author's blog, Decode Hindu Mythology. Fortunately, the book was way better than I had ever expected. It was nearly flawless.
Storyline is intriguing. Major characters are sketched well. Pacing is appropriate, except for the ending. And of course, the writing style gets you hooked. Extremely well researched, keeps the re...

An extraordinary man, an exceptional story!

There are some books that transport the reader into a different world – they tell riveting stories, unleash hidden emotions and edify the readers. Vishwamitra is certainly one such book. Dr. Vineet Aggarwal is a natural story teller and the ease with which he takes us on the journey of Vishwmitra’s life is commendable. Another admirable thing was how the author has established relationships between the characters – The respect in Satyavati and Vishwarath’s, the intimacy in Menaka and Vishwar...

A fast-paced breezy read

Vishwamitra, contrary to the impression one has of old rishis, is a young man in the book which captures his adventures in an interesting and breezy manner. I didn't know too much about him to begin with but nevertheless, the book has opened my eyes to a beautiful and inspiring story and managed to completely change my impression of him!
