VOLTZ tools VOLTZ tools Bench 5 Speed Pillar Drill, has the head-stock manufactured in high quality cast iron, the base and column are of accurately machined cast steel and may be secured permanently to most types of workbench or stand to provide a reliable, accurate and easy to control, eye level pillar drill. The 13mm keyed chuck is held in place by a JT hobby style taper drive shaft similar to the shafts used on industrial style pillar drills fitted with morse tapers. The vertical operation of the chuck is controlled by the three spindle side handle. Safety dictates that a transparent chuck guard is fitted and an adjustable depth gauge comes as standard. Power to the chuck is through the twin 5 speed taper pulley arrangement and power to this is from a 350w capacitor start induction run 230v electric motor. Changing speed is easy by releasing the motor tension bolt which slackens the belt on the drive pulley and moving the drive belt up or down the corresponding grooves in the pulleys. Drill speeds and corresponding pulley arrangements are shown on a chart fixed to the head-stock. The drill is supplied with a cast steel machine vice and fixing bolts which can be fitted to the slots in the base and table which can be tilted left or right to any degree as shown on the scale, a handle type bolt allows the table to be moved through 360 degrees around the column.
