I usually buy SEAGATE but since their performance have gone down and even the manufacturer decreasing their warranty to just 1 year. Things are not looking good in SEAGATE's front. Seagates lose in WD gain.

Once WD gets their support going in India it will be the first choice for many more. Love this harddisk btw. Bought two of these are put in on Raid awesome speed

WD Blue are tuned for higher performance so lower access times, but the WD Black has similar or a little less access times as all the other disk makers. I have chosen this HDD as a storage Drive and I am very satisfied with the access times and overall disk transfer rate that reaches around 100MBps on an average.
Besides that Its cheaper then WD black hence has a good price tag when compared on a Price Vs. Performance Graph.

A very good item of computer hardware compatible with SATA connections. Can be physically installed very easily. The Hard Disk can be easily and conveniently partitioned to suit individual needs. Overall a very good sturdy piece of computer hardware.

I have been using it for some time... The product works very well in humid and dusty conditions. The drive cooling system works well and response is very good... over all value for money.. I would say better than seagate.

Bought this after my previous WD Caviar Blue 500 developed bad sectors due to SMPS fault. Changed the SMPS and re-ordered the same HDD. Works better.

Compared to Seagate, WD Blue is trouble-less, less noise, and no-complaint performance. So if you are looking for a trouble-free experience you can try this model. Yes of course, the HDD is little sensitive to voltage problems. Use a good SMPS to ensure better ROI.

When gaming the temp goes to 55c which is not good for the drive's life. Otherwise its a great HDD, better than seagate barracuda. Windows 8 loads very fast(3-4 sec for me).

Flipkart delivery was very fast but the packaging was not good.

A decent hard disk from WD. My windows 7 gave it 5.9 out of 7.9 in the performance index which I assume is decent. I guess even Seagate would give more or less the same value and Seagate hard disks are much more popular than WD.But I guess WD is more gaining popularity now.I had earlier bought an external hard disk (WD My Passport) for my laptop and I found it as a good product which prompted me to buy WD product again.

Coming to Flipkart, great service as I got the hard disk within 2 days...

You will be better of spending 1k more and getting a 1TB hdd.

I recommend going for a 1tb hdd.
