Got the product recently. faster.. sleeker.. good design.
i have bought this HDD to back up my photographs.
unfortunately $ price increase and i made to pay more for the regular price earlier.
But product is awesome!

I had about 0.9TB of data which took almost 6 hours to write to this disk connected to USB 3.0 port on my PC running Windows 7. I really don't know the USB 3.0 speed works for writing to hard disks.

This little hard drive is amazing. Not only does it offer around 120 MB/Sec speed, it can works just about fine with five read/write channels opened simultaneously. Plus the password protection offered is a delight.

Everybody has already said everything so I will focus on one thing, performance...........

I have been using this drive for around 5 months now and I am really satisfied with the way it performs. Using USB 3.0 I get an average speed of 120 to 170 Mbps read/write speed..............

I bought this HD last week, I liked the look. However, build is not very good as internal components can easily get broken if it fells from 4-5 feet height. Worst part I notices is that speed is around 10-25mbps (on USB 2.0) and 20-50 mbps(USB3.0). I could not get better speed despite my laptop has vey high level of configuration.

Guys if u prefer this hard disk for the security,its well and good but have in mind if your using the hard disk in other computers,then it should be connected with the internet,or else u cant access your hard disk,i removed the W.D security,and so am free to use in any P.C..to say the product is awesome,and the transfer rate is around 30 Mb/s ..no heating issues.:-) and delivery by WS Retail is just awesome..

Good Product...Easy to carry in shirt pocket and support with All OS.
Only Disadvantage seen is 1TB can accomodate only 900GB(approx).....................................................................................................

i have been using this product for a year and a half and lately i have been experiencing some problems.which include sound coming from the hdd, the wd toolkit is not functioning properly.i recommend seagate as they provide quality as well aesthetics.

Hello Friends i have searched for External Hard Disk for 2 months and finally i choosed WD My Passport External Hrd Disk was great product. I have checked with my friend whi was using WD HardDisk from past 3 years and he suggested me to go ahead and purchase the product.
