Being a new piece I expect the hard drive to get detected immediately but I am having a hard time getting it detected in my windows 7 machine. I am not really sure whether this problem is that of product or laptop but to confirm I tried in other systems and even they have hard time detecting the hard drive.

while copying contents from my laptop (usb.3), i was getting minimum speed of 22mbps and maximum of 34mbps. note that i was copying around 443GB of movies.
the average data transfer rate is 25mbps for bulk data and am happy with it.......

Purchased the hard-disk in the month on Nov.
Got Delivery of the product in less than 20 hours here at Kormangala, Bangalore.
Works smoothly and fluently plus you get WD mark.
Hard-disk cover not in the list of deliverables, you have to buy it from somewhere else.
Great product (esp. silver color).

I had bought this hard disk for 5999 just 2 weeks ago but now its price hav increased but this hard drive is worth for this price also.it is stylish , has good speed , need to connect only one usb cable and it is very small and compact.

Hi Friends.. It was delivered with in 2 days but Transfer Speed is not gud just 10 MB/Sec. Remaining all is fine. I suggest to go for Thoshiba or Transcend. Go for Transcend Price is Less and Reviews are good.

I want a HDD which connects to my samsung smart tv........is this model connects to tv? if not pls suggest the right brand and model to store all my movies and connect to my smart tv. I already own a 500gb WD which i bought frm Fllipkart

Flipkart delivered the product in time. No problem here.
The problem is with WD.

WD My passport is not recognizable in WIN 7, yes, it works fine in XP and Vista but not in WIN7.
WD hasnt updated their drivers which can be compatible and works fine with WIN7.

If your OS is win7 ..Think before you buy.

Hope WD takes a notice of this.
