I loved the illustrations. I bought it because of the illustrations. But when the book came in, it looked rather dull. Like it was stripped off its vibrancy. Its first edition was decades ago, so maybe the look of the book is deliberately on the duller side.

Other than that a great buy! I have kept it aside to read it for my baby boy, when he grows older.

Got this book for my 4 yr old. She just loves it. The pictures are amazing even for a grown up. The best part about this story is that every time you read it, you'll find a new angle to interprete it. It can be a pure fun, learning lesson or just joy to your eyes. Highly Recommended for kids.

My kid got super excited by seeing pictures. Good read for 3 year olds! They love the max character.. triggers imagination as well!

This is a brilliant book where we discovered Maurice Sendak. The pictures, the storyline and the imagination it feeds are mind blowing. Our child loves this book for the rumpus with those terrible things. It is good that Flipkart and the publishers have made available a more affordable paperback.

It's a classic. I'd highly recommend for anyone who has kids under 8. Very nice story, deals with children's emotions and has excellent illustrations.

Book with good pics and an okay story. Good if you have it, and even if you don't have it, you won't miss this book. :-)
