Whirlpool Refrigerator - Keeping it Cool

Early refrigerators were called ice houses or ice boxes. Ice cut from nearby lakes and rivers was stored in these containers. The Chinese cut and stored ice around 1000 BC and 500 years after that Egyptians and Indians placed jars out overnight to cool or make ice. When ice wasn’t available or practical, people used cool cellars or even placed goods underwater sometimes. The Hebrews, Greeks, and Romans were known to use snow placed in storage pits to keep things cold. In the 17th century, various places in Europe, Saltpeter or Potassium Nitrate dissolved in water was found to create cooling conditions and this was used to create ice. The Europeans also collected ice in the winter, salted it and wrapped it in flannel after which they stored it underground for several months. William Cullen invented the first form of the artificial refrigerator in 1748 - Glasgow, Scotland. He showed how the rapid heating of liquid to a gas can result in cooling. This is the principle even behind refrigeration and it still applies today. Though Cullen himself never turned his theory into practise, many others were inspired to actualize his idea. Refrigerator units became more common at home during World War II. In the year 1930, Albert Einstein designed his own form of a refrigerator and named it “Einstein’s Refrigerator”, which required no moving parts or electricity. Though he sold the patent to Electrolux, it didn’t last long in commercial production. Interestingly, Einstein used the royalties that he received from the patent to fund the “Manhattan Project”, which brought about the development of the atomic bomb. During the 1970s and 80s, there were many discoveries that were made linking CFC-gases like Freon to the depletion of the ozone layer. Environmental concerns led to the ban of “Freon” - an aerosol propellant and refrigerant, consisting of one or more of a group of chlorofluorocarbons and related compounds. Since then, refrigerators started using variations of tetrafluoroethane as a refrigerant. In 1805, Oliver Evans, an American inventor, designed a refrigeration machine that used vapour instead of liquid and in 1820 Michael Faraday received a patent for using liquefied ammonia to create a cooling effect. Jacob Perkins who worked with Evans also received a patent for a vapor-compression cycle using liquid ammonia in 1835. He is often referred to as the “Father of the Refrigerator”. In 1947, an automatic spinner-type washer was sold by Sears under the “Kenmore” brand, and a year later, it was sold by the company under the “Whirlpool” brand. In the year 1950, the Nineteen Hundred Corporation was renamed as the Whirlpool Corporation.

Take Care of Your Cooling Needs with Whirlpool Refrigerators

Fridges are important, and even a caveman like Fred Flinstone knew that. Without a large-capacity refrigerator, it becomes quite difficult for one to stock up on fruits and vegetables, and even the leftovers from last night’s family dinner. That’s why you need to have a fridge just like Fred Flinstone did. However, you certainly don’t need the exact same model that he had. Although it served Fred great, Fred’s fridge won’t stand a chance against some of the bad boys, such as Whirlpool refrigerators. Whirlpool fridges are not only affordable, but they are also equipped with some of the most innovative technologies that prevent your favourite food items from perishing. Here are some Whirlpool single-door, triple-door and Whirlpool double-door fridges that prove our point:

Whirlpool 190 L Direct Cool Single-door (2019) Refrigerator with Base Drawer

Whirlpool 200 L Direct Cool Single-door (2019) Refrigerator with Base Drawer

Whirlpool 440 L Frost Free Double-door (2019) Convertible Refrigerator

Whirlpool 265 L Frost Free Double-door (2019) Refrigerator

Whirlpool 260 L Frost Free Triple-door Refrigerator

Whirlpool 190 L Direct Cool Single-door 3 Star (2020) Refrigerator

Whirlpool 330 L Frost Free Triple-door Refrigerator

The popularity of commercial refrigerators grew tremendously towards the end of the 19th century due to breweries. By the turn of this century, nearly all breweries had a refrigerator. Today, refrigerators have gone from being a luxury necessity in every household. The meatpacking industry followed suit and went with the first refrigerator introduced in 1900. The refrigerators of today work similarly to the olden day refrigerators. Early refrigerators used liquids and gases that were flammable, toxic, and highly reactive.

Whirlpool Refrigerator for Your Home

The Upton Machine Company was an American company, which was established in 1911. By 1929, Upton had entered into a merger with the Nineteen Hundred Washer Company and this company kept gaining success even during the Great Depression. In the 1950s, the company has rebranded itself as Whirlpool and has been a trusted known since then. Although Whirlpool as a company started with selling washing machines, its expansion led to its introduction to different types of consumers such as refrigerators. Whirlpool refrigerators are amongst the most known and trusted brands of refrigerators that you can find on the globe. Whirlpool refrigerators come with different energy consumption levels, different number of doors, different capacities and more. However, before you shop for a Whirlpool fridge, here are a few things you should keep an eye out for.

Energy Rating

The energy rating of any refrigerator is an indication of its capacity to efficiently consume energy and deliver enhanced cooling without being too heavy on the consumer’s pocket. Energy rating is given within the range of 1-5. If the fridge boasts a 5 rating, then it is as eco-friendly as the current technology can make it be. You can look for a Whirlpool 5-star fridge or a Whirlpool single door 5-star refrigerator. If you are looking for a Whirlpool fridge, then you can also look online at sites such as Flipkart, which host a range of products such as Whirlpool fridge 190 litres. To make you search more effective, you can also fix certain filters such as price so that your search is updated to Whirlpool fridge 190 litres price and so on.

Whirlpool Refrigerators Single Door

Single-door Whirlpool fridges are ideal for small families or for people who are looking for pocket-friendly refrigerators. The single-door compartment of the fridge is further subdivided into a freezer, a chill tray, shelves, and a vegetable box. Some Whirlpool models may also come with an external pedestal drawer, where one can store dry items like potatoes, onions and so on. Most single-door refrigerators from Whirlpool come with the manual defrosting, which requires the user to manually defrost the freezer.

Whirlpool Double-door Fridge

Whirlpool double-door refrigerators are one of the most popular types of fridges in the Indian household. The fridge here is divided into two distinct parts. Some refrigerators have the freezer in the top part, while other fridges may have bottom-mounted freezers. Whatever the case may be, these refrigerators are a little more advanced and come automatic frost-free operation.

Whirlpool Refrigerator 3 Door

Whirlpool triple-door refrigerator is another attractive and popular design. This design also allows you to organize your grocery efficiently. The top door of this frost-free refrigerator is the freezer, while the bottom section is the vegetable tray, which now has an easy access option of its own. The middle part of such a refrigerator hosts the shelves.

Buy Whirlpool Refrigerator Online

A 3-door refrigerator is slightly expensive than the other products. So, before you buy a Whirlpool fridge, you need to decide on your budget. For an example, say if you wish to buy any other Whirlpool product such as a washing machine, you can look for Whirlpool washing machine price list, do a comparative study and then decide on the one you wish to buy. Similarly, you can set the price as well as capacity filters while you shop for Whirlpool fridges so that you can bring the ideal fridge home.

Refrigerator Safety

Refrigerators keep our food safe and fresh but these happen only if they’re operating at a proper temperature. When refrigerators are not kept cold enough, harmful bacteria can grow rapidly within perishable food and contaminate the entire fridge. Another thing to keep in mind is that refrigerators should not be overly packed. Even though cramming the last vessel into the fridge may seem like a good idea, you might be in danger of blocking the cooling unit that will chill your food. There is also a danger of the fridge door not being shut properly. The air inside the fridge needs to circulate around the food for the food to stay fresh. All the new stock should always be kept behind the old stock. It is also important to keep a check on the expiry date of the food inside the fridge in order to prevent food wastage and also ensure that you don’t end up eating stale food. Open cans especially containing food such as fruit and tomatoes should never be stored in the refrigerator as this may lead to chemical contamination. You can put the food in a container that is suitable for chilling. It is important to cool leftovers as quickly as possible, ideally within two hours and always defrost leftovers completely either in the fridge or in the microwave. When defrosted, it is advised against reheating food more than once, because the more number of times you reheat the food, the higher the risk of food poisoning.

There are different types of Whirlpool refrigerators and each of the refrigerators comes equipped with premium features that are distinct and state-of-the-art. Whirlpool fridge freezers are powerful and offer different temperatures to keep your food fresh. Whirlpool french door refrigerators offer many advantages. You can access food easily, see whatever food you have without taking things out. These fridges also offer a lot of shelf space.

Whirlpool side by side refrigerators are quite advantageous as the doors need lesser room to swing open. Also having the freezer on the side offers significant shelf space, making it easier for you to locate your food and reach it.

Whirlpool double door refrigerators have 2 doors. You can easily open the freezer door without opening the main door of the fridge. The shelves are quite spacious and this makes it convenient to store big vessels and beverage bottles.

You can check out Whirlpool refrigerators prices online and browse through the available models to figure out what type of fridge you need. The capacity of the whirlpool single door refrigerator you buy will depend on the number of people in your house and the amount of food you wish to store.
