    Carrot and Stick

No book has explained carrot and sticks in banking industry better. The author could be one who chased carrots and lost in the game. that made him explain so clearly.
What attracted me most is the starting, in the backdrop of a village in Kerala amidst poverty and Gods, and the ending where the worms reveals the meaning of modern life. It is the story of an average middle level manager in all organizations in India.

Author has brought in correct dose of emotions, to hook one in to a story. N...

A peek into the banking industry

The story starts with Thobias learning about his disease and returning to his native place. He reminisces about his early life, his relationship with his father and friends. Then he is pulled into the bank investigation and story moves to Thobias' life in the bank. During his last days he meets his old colleagues and learned things he never knew about the bank. But the last chapter didn't impress me where worms talk about the human life.

Whoever works in a bank can easily relate to the life ...

    Worming away into Life!

The book, if it has to be described in one line would be, ‘Philosophical, Sadistically Practical and Insightful.’

Thobias Mathias, the main protagonist of the book is dying and wants to get back to the land of his roots before his time comes. So, he rushes from USA where he has been living for ages with his family and goes to Kerala where his aged mother lives – All that he wants is some peace and respite from this dreary life.

Unfortunately, destiny has a lot in store for him and quite co...

    Tooo Realistic

Now when I look at my bank I can comment on the book better. Book is tooo realistic. But the process has to be there. There is no escape.

Dear author, you have presented it very well. It does not mean that you are fully correct. I disagree on the emotions that you have added to an issue, to make it a book. But at the same time I congratulate you in bringing out many things which are there but fails to get out attraction in the ordinary life.

On the word 'asinisation' let me laugh albeit, p...
