    Nice

This book is well written like all of Tharoor's books. The first half of the book is about our ancient traditions and evolution of our relegion and philosophy. The Second half is a detailed history of the Hindutva movement starting from Hindu Mahasabha, RSS, Janasangh, and BJP and how they succeeded in dividing the people of this country. But the most surprising thing is that there is not a single word about Congress which ruled for over 60 years when more scams and atrocities were encourag...

    Great product

Why I Am A Hindu is a well-researched exposition and is yet a charming personal account -- and it floats seamlessly in rich prose and diction synonymous with one of the most widely-read and revered authors of our times.

The book is divided into THREE SECTIONS:

The first of which is titled My Hinduism

The Second section is titled Political Hinduism and this is where Hindutva comes into play.

And The Third Part is all about the Politics of Division.

    Best in the market!

One of the most sophisticated explanation of Hindu religion.
It also provides one with an insight about Hindutva Nationalism and how it is different from Hinduism.
The basic tenets of Hinduism are explored in it's full capacity.
A must read Book for gaining proper introduction to Hinduism in this modern era of Manipulation!

    Fabulous!

An informative book. Hinduism has been discussed here from ancient times to modern period along with writer's own view on it. Really enjoyed a lot. Strongly recommend to read this book.

    Terrific purchase

First half of the book is outstanding. Though most of the things I already knew, but it was interesting to see. Moreover, please ignore second half. It's full of political things. Over all, I'm giving it 5on 5 because I loved first half. And yeah! I read it completely in 1 day, it's a fastest book I've ever read.

    Worth every penny

Shashi tharoor's why I am Hindu can be seen as response to savarkar's who is hindu. The book reaffirms the liberal view of Hinduism to the reader , which Tharoor embraces not out of constant anti-national label imposed but due to inherent supremacy of the religion. As Gandhi said that to weaponize India is to westernize it , Tharoor similarly asserts reitratively that to reduce hindu culture to a monolithic , homogenous, assert only a distorted version is to reduce it to other Semitic religio...

Mr.Wordsmith casts his charming spell on Hinduism

Dr. Tharoor's philosophical enquiry about his identity and the ideas of Hinduism that he values and transcends are bluntly expressed in an epistolary way.

The book is divided into THREE SECTIONS:

The first of which is titled My Hinduism

The Second section is titled Political Hinduism and this is where Hindutva comes into play.

And The Third Part is all about the Politics of Division.

In the second part of the book,he excoriates the doctrine of Hindutva which,to my mind, is no...

    Worth every penny

Every Indian in particular and the whole world in general must read this particular book. It starts with a personal pronoun with a Question mark in the first section, where the author is obvious in saying that he was born a Hindu and there are hardly any who get the choice to choose his/her faith from cradle. However, this was not the only reason for him to be a Hindu, but he lived them (them because of pluralism), and was comfortable with it because it is (Hindu) capaciously eclectic, it d...

    Really Nice

Shashitharoor view was a good think idea of correct pathway .it was a really nice attitude entry of correct perspective of hindu religions. But today conditions always very difficult mainly petrol diesal jet fuels hike day to day life otherwise vegetables, LPG gas price 17 times hike between 2014 to 2018 this day so middle class people so hungry destroy living each day but election time Hindutwa caste vote bank secure hidden agenda applicable ...
