Four-time US champion Yasser Seirawan is a renowned chess grand master. He is a revered chess commentator and author.

Seirawan has authored several books like Winning Chess Tactics, Winning Chess Brilliancies, Winning Chess Strategies, Winning Chess Endings, Chess on the Edge, Winning Chess Combinations, Take My Rooks and Chess Duels: My Games with the World Champions.

Born in Damascus, Syria, Yasser Seirawan attended Garfield High School, Queen Anne Elementary School and Meany Middle School. In 1979, he won the World Junior Chess Championship. He also edited the Inside Chess Magazine for a period of twelve years. He is married to Yvette Nagel, a Woman FIDE Master.
