Mr Norbury describes the ways in which nouns and adjectives are built up in Russian. He deals at length with the most useful and important of these: affixation, deaffixation, compounding. Each of the affixes in common use is discussed, the structure of compound words is shown in tabular form, and a list of some 500 simple and compound affixes ends the book. Comparisons with English uses and procedures are made throughout.
