The 39 Clues #03: The Sword Thief is the story of rival teams who are trying to unravel certain clues in the Far East, racing with each other, while a young sibling pair experiences loneliness and fear from time to time.

    Summary Of The Book

The third instalment in The 39 Clues series, The 39 Clues #03: The Sword Thief continues the story of the quest for the fortune of the deceased Grace Cahill. When Grace passed away, her relatives did not easily inherit her wealth. Instead, they had to form teams to win a hunt involving clues and sans rules.

One of the teams comprises of a pair of orphaned siblings, fourteen year old Amy and eleven year old Dan. While rest of the teams are rich and have different means to unravel the clues, the siblings have nothing going for them. They are, however, determined, smart, and united.

The 39 Clues #03: The Sword Thief begins with them following the clue of the samurai swords to Japan. Betrayed by a rival team, they form an alliance with the erroneous Alistair Oh and set out for Tokyo. They make some progress in Japan but before long, they are captured by the Holts, another rival team.

Is there any hope left for the siblings, and will their alliance work out for them? What other clues are waiting for the teams? The book will give answers to all these interesting questions and more. The sights and sounds of Japan, as painted by the author, captivate the reader and make for a gripping read. The excitingly placed clues and the pace of The 39 Clues #03: The Sword Thief ensure that it is a thoroughly thrilling read.

    Okay...

The 39 clues series has deteriorated a lot. Originally everyone had high expectations from this series, especially after that first (and awesome) book.
Now there are 10+1+4=15 books in this series.
This is perhaps the only series that consistently deteriorates with each successive book. A complete let down.
However, it can still be recommended that you read the first 10 books, and leave it at that, before you spoil your experience.
