"A married woman, Nora, considers her life with her husband, Torvald, to be quite satisfied. They live in their ‘doll house’ in which she is the doll. Nora commits a forgery for the sake of her husband. Upon realizing her deceit, her husband insults her despite finding out her true intentions. The caged song bird, Nora, not appreciating her husband’s selfish acts, decides to slam the door on their marriage. A Doll’s House is a play by Henrik Ibsen, which portrays the life of a late nineteenth century woman and questions the designated social roles of a husband and wife. The play discusses how married women lacked individual opportunities in a male-dominated world."
