The author, Ashok Ramnany, was born in New Delhi in 1954 and is a post graduate in commerce. He started his career as a junior accountant and moved on to sales and marketing with an upcoming corporate situated in Mumbai. Here he worked for more than 10 years and then personal circumstances made him shift to Pune where he worked as the resident manager for the corporate for another two years. One day the business bug bit him, and he left his job to start his own distribution firm, which he ran successfully for 20 years. In 2009, he decided to wind up his business and take a sabbatical. His networking skills introduced him to the world of corporate training. He was soon empanelled with a few training companies as a soft skills trainer. Subsequently, he underwent an intensive ‘train the trainer’ residential program with TCS and was empanelled as an expert trainer with Tata Consultancy Services to conduct employability training for graduate students as a part of their CSR activity.
