Unknowingly, Kumar (Prem Chopra) sends a marriage proposal to a beautiful girl, Neena (Sadhana), who turns out to be his best friend, Rohit's (Rajendra Kumar) fiancée. Neena rejects his proposal and also wounds his ego. Enraged and humiliated Kumar vows to get even with her and assaults her on the day of her engagement with Rohit. In the ensuing fight with Rohit, Kumar loses an eye but manages to escape. Thinking of herself as unworthy, Neena refuses to marry Rohit. Neena discovers that she is pregnant with Kumar's child and attempts suicide. Rohit saves her and convinces her to marry him. In few years, however, Kumar who now has become a feared criminal returns in the couple's life. Will Kumar find out the truth about his son and continue to torment the couple?
