A must have for fast paced learning

I am not a programmer by profession but I do coding as part of my work. I had elementary knowledge of C++ to begin with, as I was quite familiar programming with C. I got this book based on recommendation based on my background, to learn C++. The strongest point of the book is its natural method of teaching C++ by working on a problem with increased complexity introducing more features of the language as necessary. I mean, this is how we learn languages on our own, we start at a basic level u...

An Awesome Book To Start Out With...

To start off, I might not be a "certified buyer". But am certainly a "certified user" of the book ^^. Moreover, dont listen to people who say this book is just for reference before interview.

The book is a prime example of how C++ should be taught in reality. Those who have a base in other languages, will certainly have no problems with the book. For the newcomers, it would be smart to read the book in detail and with interest without which no book is ever going to help you.

    Best but not for beginners.

As far as I'm concerned, I bought this book couple of months ago. I think targeted audience are *certainly not the beginners* but people who have done some programming in other languages and do not know C++. Presentation/explanation of concepts are very lucid. Information density of this book is quite high and I would certainly not recommend anyone to skip any paragraph. I believe that no other C++ book manages to convey as much information per page as this one does.
