The story is centered around the life of the influential Hindu philosopher Adi Shankaracharya, the revered philosopher who helped consolidate the doctrine of Advaita Vedanta. This movie received 4 National Film Awards for its spectacular portrayal of a legendary man who lived somewhere around the 8th century in India.

My Review

This movie was on my watchlist for a long long time .So I thought what the hell and went ahead and bought the dvd here on flipkart .The delivery was satisfactory and the quality of the video and audio was really good .I guess this is a restored print .But I've gotta tell you guys , I am not at all happy with the film .The film's screenplay is probably a line by line translation of some old sanskrit book .Because on screen ,it was odd and there were a lot of awkward pauses between the characte...

Terrible product

The DVD has a lot of scratches and is not working for some part of the movie. In Computer terms, getting "Cyclic redundancy error".
I have ordered again. and waiting to see, if I could get a DVD without any issues. Its too bad that I cannot return this item.

This is a must watch movie for anyone who's spiritual & has an inclination towards the teachings of Sankaracharya. Very symbolistic .. Try reading the transcript of the movie online if you are interested in understanding the nuances introduced by the director in the movie.
