Malvi is the language of the Malwa region of India. Malwa is well known as the heart of the land of India. The land area of Malwa region is very wide. Malwa is the region between Betwa river in the east, Chambal in the north-west and Maa Rewa i.e. Narmada river in the south. Malwa is spread over an area of about 48000 square kilometres, and includes Shajapur, Agar (Malwa), Rajgarh, Sehore, Dhar, Jhabua, Ratlam, Dewas, Indore, Ujjain, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Vidisha districts. Along with this, Malvi is also spoken in some areas of Rajasthan like Nimbahera, Jhalawar and Chittorgarh etc. with the influence of Mewari and other dialects. Malwa is famous for sayings like "Malav Mati Deep Gambhir, Dag-dag roti, pag-pag neer".
