In ancient India, Gurukulas, Universities, and other centers of higher learning were meant to impart knowledge traditions, and practices of Bharat from generation to generation. It is worth noting that among these knowledge traditions and practices, the subject of Mathematics in which the decimal number system, arithmetic, algebra, and Trigonometry were developed, is of immense importance to show the phenomenal development of Hindu civilization. Prominent thinkers of the West have evidently recognized this fact and even today there are many modern scholars who are influenced by this treasure of India. The present book is a modest venture to introduce the Vedic treasure of India to young scholars. The book, as it stands today, is based on the study of ancient texts of Indian Mathematics and commentaries on them, and on the papers published in the recent past. The topics dealt here with, in the book, shall enable scholars and teachers to have a better understanding of mathematics and computer science. In particular, the book will be useful for those who are interested in Vedic and Ancient mathematics.
