    The book is very useful for beginners as well as advanced learners of anthropology..
    In the new edition they also included recent developements on related fields (seperate boxes), pictures , Migrants & Immigrants etc.,
    Very useful for civils aspirants( anthropology as optional) to acquire knowledge but not directly in exam(UPSC) point of view..Go for this book if u have enough time( 1year ) for ur mains... :)

    Q:i bought this book and doesn't find it useful as it only covers very basics of anthropology and some only some topics of social anthropology is cover, 10% of upsc syllabus is covered in this book.
    A:it's not a book written for upsc .it's builds up foundation and clearly explains the anthropology concepts holisticaly. For better understanding this will be a good start . it's for beginners
